The Fishbowl Skills Development Programme is a 5 day specialised autism hands on training course for educators, therapists, parents and caregivers. The Fishbowl aims to better empower those working with children on the Autism Spectrum, to identify their strengths and to offer individualised intervention at each child’s level of understanding and development.

The Informal Settlement Outreach Project is aimed at capacitating and up-skilling educators and therapists in the informal settlements around Johannesburg on how to deliver intervention that is specifically tailored to address the areas of developmental delay of each child, to enable them to identify the learners’ various strengths and to offer individualised intervention at each child’s level of understanding. This outreach programme is based on a partnership between the CdTC and schools situated in the informal settlements for a period of 12 – 18 months per school. Eventually, CdTC envisages a situation where these schools and educators are able to independently deliver this method of teaching as a result of the input received from CdTC.

The ultimate aim of this Outreach Project: Every learner is given the opportunity to realise his/her full potential.

The Unlock Series aims to ‘unlock’ certain topics relevant to children with barriers to learning and to create a better understanding of how to intervene.
